Our Work
At Riley + Studio, we design thoughtful, high-quality homes that reflect the unique character of their sites and the people who live in them. Each project begins with a deep understanding of the land, light, and lifestyle, resulting in homes that feel both timeless and tailored. From coastal retreats to woodland escapes, our work is rooted in clean lines, natural materials, and a strong connection to the outdoors. Below is a selection of current and completed projects across Maine and beyond.

Balch Pond
Nestled among towering pines on a serene lakefront site, Hemlock Rise is a thoughtful renovation of a modest one-story cabin transformed into a modern two-story retreat. The design preserves the warmth and simplicity of the original structure while introducing vertical expansion and refined details to accommodate year-round living.
The renovation includes a full second-story addition with a new primary suite and expanded living spaces below, along with a screened-in porch that blurs the line between indoor comfort and outdoor immersion. Natural wood cladding, black-framed windows, and a standing seam metal roof give the home a timeless, contemporary feel that harmonizes with its forested surroundings.
